Blackford County Schools

Guidance

Blackford High School’s Guidance Department is here to serve our student community by providing the information and resources students need to achieve their academic and career goals. We encourage all students to meet regularly with their counselor; we’re armed with information you need and happy to help.

Diploma Options

We offer BHS students three diploma options:

  • Core 40 (minimum of 40 credits)
  • Core 40 with Academic Honors (minimum 47 credits)
  • Core 40 with Technical Honors (minimum 47 credits)

Please review our student handbook or course description guide for specific course requirements. We encourage you to discuss these options with your family and guidance counselor. We’ll work with you to be sure you meet your academic goals.

Scholarship Opportunities

We know college is a substantial financial investment; however, we believe no one should be denied an education due to cost. Begin seeking financial aid and scholarships early. We’ve provided some resources to help you get started. Check back often; we post new opportunities regularly.
